No. The FDA is currently developing regulation in this area. White Cloud does not make health claims about e-cigs being safer than tobacco cigarettes. However, what we do know is that, based upon scientific studies and clinical observation, smoking tobacco cigarettes can lead to significant health problems, diseases and premature death. While research is still in its early stages, there have been no published studies that link smoking-related illnesses to e-cigs.

As of March 2016, the FDA was still in the process of evaluating e-cigarettes as to whether they offer a potentially healthier alternative to regular cigarettes. At this time, the FDA has held several workshops where stakeholders on all sides, had the opportunity to submit opinion, evidence and emerging science around e-cigs. FDA has submitted to the White House Office of Management & Budget for review the final “deeming” regulations on e-cigarettes. We expect to see the result of this review mid-to-late 2016.

While we don’t know what the final regulation will look like, White Cloud is already addressing many of the elements that we know concern regulators. These include, not selling our products to anyone under the legal age to buy tobacco, reporting our ingredients, both on the pack and in more detail on our website. We also make sure that all of our products are made to the highest possible standards with US-sourced flavors and ingredients. Consumers are encouraged to gather data from all sides in order to make informed decisions.
